Sexual Pressure & The Young Generation

Even though sexual union provides the utmost pleasure in life, indulging oneself in a sexual relationship at other's insistence without any spontaneous desire or willingness to participate in sex can lead to very harmful consequences particularly, if the young boys and girls, who have not reached adulthood, show tremendous inclination towards sex. But, unfortunately youngsters of the present generation are increasingly involving themselves in pressurized sex. A revelation by the “ Medical Institute for Sexual Health” states that 33 percent aged in between 6 to 11 years and 49 per cent falling in the age group 12-15 have confessed of having suffered the problems of sexual pressure in their life.

Factors Responsible For Sexual Pressure On Youngsters

The pressure exerted by friends to have sex at an early period in life has been the chief cause behind many boys and girls` gradual inclination towards premature sex. Moreover, when a guy moves around with friends who occasionally indulge in physical intercourse, he is likely to be influenced by them and it is also possible that he might take-up their habits of sexual indulgence.

Sexually Explicit Advertisements& Easy Availability Of Pornographic Videos

Advertisements and billboards hanging in almost all the places also contribute towards inculcating an unhealthy perception about sex in young minds. Sexually explicit music videos and tele advertisements of sexual therapies such as condoms also exert indirect pressure on teens to have sex at a very early period in their lives.

Moreover, with the advent of the internet, pornographic movies and videos have become easily accessible to the young generation and as such they have become one of the main reasons for influencing the still immature brains.

Unhealthy Mental Perception Of Youngsters Regarding Sex

Notwithstanding the fact that a plethora of factors are responsible for the pressure exerted in the mind of a youth to indulge in sexual activity, the mental thought process of the young brigade, which has undergone tremendous transformation over the years, has also made the youngsters radically inclined towards early sex. A completely unhealthy view on sex has fostered in the minds of the young generation:

• This belief is upheld by many youngsters that one has to be sexually experienced in order to gain acceptance in the peer circle.
• Secondly, the young brigade believes that sexually experienced people are manlier than the guys who have not experienced the pleasure of sex.

How the Young Generation Can Be Saved From Falling Prey To Sexual Pressure?

As it is not unusual for the guys and gals below 18 years to go astray, it becomes a prime responsibility of parents and guardians to take the necessary steps and ensure that their children do not indulge in risky sex:

• To prevent their children from going astray, parents should educate their children on sexual issues at a very early point in their life. If they get to know that the sexually transmitted diseases (STD) like HIV generally occur as a result of unprotected sex, it is less likely that they would choose to give in to peer pressure and indulge in sexual intercourse before they reach adulthood.
• In order to make sure that their children do not become victims of pressurized sex, parents are required to keep a check on their kids` friend circle and make sure that they don't mingle with guys who indulge in sexual intercourse occasionally.
• Finally, it is the responsibility of the parents to make sure their kids read healthy books and watch good flicks instead of picking up sexually oriented material to read in their leisure time.
